Over the second half of the 19th and early 20th, most European cities engaged in massive urban renewal and a precisely codified residential typology emerged across the continent and in all major cities. In Paris, the Haussmannian type provided several specific organizational rules that were the immediate reflection of how society was organized. Working around these rules is what exemplifies our approach.
