The new David Zwirner gallery in Paris is located in a former tin mold factory once dedicated to the production of culinary forms.
Working in collaboration with Selldorf Architects, we meticulously redesigned the exhibition spaces and upgraded the glass to meet enhanced mechanical and fire performance standards. As a consequence of the increased load, the steel structure was modified, though in such a detailed fashion that it retains its original cast-iron features.
The combination of fritted glass and artificial lighting provides for an enhanced viewing experience. Separate viewing rooms and offices were given equal care, allowing the art to be displayed in a variety of contexts.
